It’s not easy being a small noncommercial news organization. We are trying to report on under-covered local news and keep our publication free of ads.

That’s why we need your help.

Our grassroots funding model reflects our approach to journalism: accountability to the community, not to advertisers or wealthy special interests. So we’re asking for your support. Become a charter member of the Public Press and be in the vanguard of Bay Area residents who want to do something to improve local journalism.

Membership 

Membership at all levels includes copies of the next four issues in the print edition of the newspaper and free or discounted admission to all events hosted by the Public Press. In coming months we’ll host gatherings for our charter members to discuss ideas about how the Public Press can better craft innovative, nimble and consequential news reporting for San Francisco and the Bay Area.
