Muni employees are fighting to halt the restoration of the 61 percent of service cut in May.

The Transportation Workers Union Local 250-A has charged that Muni is engaging in unfair labor practices, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The union asked the California Public Employment Relations Board to step in and issue an injunction that would prevent Muni from restoring service.

A 17-page legal request filed by the union to the state board accused Muni management of failing to meet and go over the the proposed scheduling changes and other terms of employment, such as forcing some union representatives on city payroll to get back behind the wheel and resume driving duties.

SF Weekly said it received an internal document from the union regarding the injunction.

Muni officials and the city attorney’s office were working on filing a response to the state board and block the union’s request.

The service restorations would go into effect Saturday and would add more runs late at night, to community routes and the busiest lines.
