Solving Homelessness: A Community Workshop

Impact Hub San Francisco, Jan. 25, 2018

Across the Bay Area, cynicism about the problem of mass homelessness has infected both the press and public. Residents are exposed daily to stories about hopeless individuals, broken systems, ineffective policing and sums of money that never seems to go far enough.

The San Francisco Public Press will host a one-day symposium and workshop that will explore bold and creative ideas to solve homelessness in the Bay Area. All of the day’s activities will be documented and reported by a team of journalists assigned to cover the event and the ideas generated by participants. Attendees will be invited to continue the conversation by participating in follow-up meetings and online discussions to track whether proposed solutions gain traction and support in their communities.

Can we do better? Yes – through listening, learning, conversation and follow-up.

Join neighbors, city officials, artists, nonprofit service providers, activists, legal experts, public health workers and people experiencing homelessness for a unique opportunity to use design thinking to find creative, effective solutions that can help get more people off the streets and into stable housing.

When: Thursday, Jan. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Impact Hub San Francisco, 1885 Mission St.
RSVP: Tickets via Eventbrite
